UPDATE: Tuckahoe Appoints Interim Superintendent; Will Pay Former Superintendent $92,500 To End Contract Over 'Irreconcilable Differences'

The geniuses we hired to run our schools - fired or interfered with the proper process to terminate someone and we are now paying for it.
They screw up and we pay. Sounds fair, right?
Nothing like giving away "other peoples money".
How about we deduct 5% of their pay for 2 or 3 years to cover their mistake? " Mar 19, 16 12:17 AM

'The Hills' Developer Expects To Submit Tweaked Draft Environmental Study Next Month

UPDATE: School Board Accepts Eastport South Manor Superintendent's Resignation; Continues To Deflect Questions About Decision

$92,000,000 school budget.

Ninety-two million.

This is a sickening bunch of crap.

We get lied to. We get one story and then a completely different story - when Cooke accepts Nocero's resignation.

Colleen Bowler refuses to be open and frank with the public that pays her salary.
What's wrong with this picture? I'll tell you what's the worst about it - it is
a "re-run".

It is sickening to see programs for our kids get cut - while these characters keep giving us a "snow-job" and continue to be paid after they've been either caught doing something "off-color" or blatantly illegal.

One board member votes to pay-off another to be quite - with our money.

How about a citizens oversight committee - with some real strength!!!
The school spends over 92,000,000 a year. Any crumbs left for an over-sight
PTA type board?

Southampton School District Superintendent Under Investigation

There has recently been 3 to 4 top officials of Southampton to Eastport school districts in controversial (or worse) situations. The boards that are supposed to over-see them are complicit in "fudging" the situations, or worse.

Anybody out there start thinking that we may have a bunch of "fruit-cakes" managing our kids & cash?

Accountability is missing." Mar 24, 16 12:59 PM

UPDATE: Town Releases 'The Hills' Environmental Study To Public

Dear Mr. Supervisor,

Please tell me you were not part of this witless attempt to run interference for the developer of The Hills in E. Quogue? What a desperate "small ball" attempt to withhold public comment (and criticism).

Please tell me that you will not let KYLE COLLINS and FRANK ZAPPONE push you into approving The Hills - in spite of the project not being able to pass the "scoping outline" created by the previous Town Board. Dated July 15th, 2015.

This project couldn’t pass your 7 PPD Requirements either.

Aquifer Overlay District requires no more that 20,000 sq. ft. of fertilized turf in a TRACT. They have 3 tracks = 60,000 sq ft of turf. THEY DO NOT HAVE the right to construct 4,400,000 sq ft of turf for their golf course and homes.!!! Southampton Town has passed 25 years of laws just so projects like this one could not be built. The State knows that if you limit the amount of turf - you limit fertilizers, pesticides and carcinogens applied to these delicate areas. Why give them such a gift?

These laws were passed to protect our waters and bays. Give me one honest reason to allow these people to defile our bays, pollute our drinking water and beautiful wide open spaces? A bag of shells... Some wampum? A parking lot?
Only back room dishonest actions could get this project close to passing.
Not everyone in Town Hall is going to "keep quiet". Laws are laws and the wrong doers won't have the same protections as Hillary enjoys...

These standards listed in the Final Scope For The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (July 1st, 2015) that The Hills change of zone must show that the project will not go beyond. These are mandated by NYS government imposed SEQRA and Aquifer Overlay District - to insure developments are creating less pollutants and less disturbance to the unfragmented open, preserved spaces.

If you, Mr. Supervisor, held these developers to the letter of the law - they couldn't build a 154,000 sq. ft. clubhouse. They couldn't build a 160 acre golf course (which is how big it will really be after they finish trampling the slivers of supposedly preserved space in-between the fairways...!) They might be able to build 70 or 80 homes over the next 20 years. By then – we’ll need a few more kids in our schools.

Mr. Supervisor please tell me that you wont let Skip push this "Old Dog" on your shoulders. I know you want to go out like a winner - not reviled by 2/3rds of the towns people. Especially the environmentally concerned population out East. This project can't pass the existing laws & overlay district protections - unless you "look the other way". The developers own Mr. Hissey wrote in this paper that over "100 acres were UNBUILDABLE". A real brain surgeon...

Your mother might say to you "Jay, stay away from these people". "They'll get you in trouble".

Mr. Schneiderman, please get that big beautiful white gelding out of the Montauk barn and ride it to the next meeting and show all of us supporters of yours that you'll do the right thing for us.

Thank you very much.
" Apr 23, 16 12:14 AM

Somehow, we concerned citizens must find a way that makes it impossible for the Town Board to pass this gift to the developers.

There are about 30,000 residents in Southampton Town (I think). Either we get together and create some real appearance of strength - or we will be run over by some short term stinkers.

I think Jay is playing a dangerous waiting game - and may be trying to cement his influence over John and Julie...?

Time is not on our side.

" Apr 23, 16 12:28 AM

Our Supervisor should love this idea.

He won't have to rub it in the face of the previous Town Supervisors and their lackeys.

Let the VOTERS & TAX-PAYERS decide. What a radical idea!" Apr 25, 16 7:58 AM

Updated 'The Hills' Environmental Impact Study Describes When Community Benefits Would Arrive

Is Mr. Hissey hoping that nobody will read their latest DEIS?

Is it his expectation that the Town Board will just approve this mega-development - change of zone based on Discovery's opinions and promises?

That could be the only answer...!" Apr 26, 16 8:28 PM

Don't get worked up about their miss-statements, vague generalities, wide open promises and unenforceable covenants - this isn't a serious DEIS - it's a wonderful story. Albeit - not believable...

There's a phrase in it that says: "I can promise you - this development will sell out better than Baker's Bay" (in the Bahamas). That development is about 12 years old and maybe 9% built out.

By their numbers - if the Town Board closed it's eyes to all of the serious inadequacies - East Quogue will be built-out in 2031, or later..?" Apr 30, 16 1:06 AM

East Quogue voters reject Junior Heaney
Former Southampton Town Supervisor Patrick Heaney managed to fool 600 voters in the East Quogue School District in his try for a seat on the Board of Education, but still finished up the track to incumbent Dianna Gobler (709 votes) and newcomer Jessica Stalters (606 votes).

Almost 1150 district residents turned out to deny Heaney, and pass a $23.8 million budget with more than 70% of the vote.

4 MILLION SQUARE FEET OF TURF - why would Jay Schneiderman consider this?
