A Queens couple was arrested in Hampton Bays on Saturday night after the man threw his girlfriend onto the railroad tracks and she, in turn, fought with responding police officers, according to Southampton Town Police.
Adam D. Cameron, 28, and Elizabeth A. Miller, 27, both of Ridgewood, Queens, were arguing on the Long Island Rail Road train station platform on Good Ground Road at about 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, when officers were called to the scene via several 911 calls reporting that he had pushed her off the platform onto the tracks below. The next train was scheduled to arrive at 8:27 p.m., police said.
Mr. Cameron was arrested shortly after 9 p.m. and charged with reckless endangerment in the second degree, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation.
Ms. Miller, who was not injured during the fall, was intoxicated and yelling obscenities in public, officers said. She also was aggressive and combative with officers and refused to give them her name. She was arrested at about the same time as Mr. Cameron and charged with obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation.
The pair were held overnight at police headquarters and arraigned on Sunday morning. Mr. Cameron was sent to the Suffolk County Jail in Riverside in lieu of $2,750 bail and is due back in court on November 15. Ms. Miller was released on her own recognizance and is due back in court on November 16, court officials said.
Hey if it were Ozzie and his wife... ( not Harriat sp?)... it would make for a prime time reality special these days!!!!
Instead ... Taxpayers have to share the expense of police services rendered, jail accomodations with meals no less, chauffeur delivery to and from court and another black eye for the already tormented hamlet of Hampton Bays as a result of the "staggering" flow of Budweiser from some local pubs...
Unarguable... Let the good times roll...
