Arrests Follow Brawl Outside East Hampton Bowl

Jan 10, 2012 4:37 PM

Kyle T. Russell, 29, and Michael E. Russell, 21, both of East Hampton, were arrested on warrants by East Hampton Village Police last Thursday in connection with a brawl outside East Hampton Bowl early in the morning of December 31. Police used pepper spray and a Taser to disperse a crowd of about 75 people, 40 of whom were reportedly involved in the brawl.

According to Police Chief Gerard Larsen Jr., the men who were arrested were particularly aggressive about refusing to stop fighting and to disperse, but the situation at the time was such a “huge mess” that police waited until after it was resolved and obtained arrest warrants.

Michael and Kyle Russell turned themselves in at 1:10 p.m. on Thursday at East Hampton Village Police headquarters. Each was charged with unlawful assembly, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation.

Officers had “tried numerous ways to attempt to gain control of the situation,” according to a police report, before resorting to pepper spray and the Taser. Several East Hampton Town Police officers also responded to the incident, during which a
young woman who was
having a panic attack was assisted. Ultimately, the officers were able to gain control of the situation, the report said, and the combatants started fleeing in their cars.

Xlusive Entertainment was renting the bowling alley at the time of the fight for “Mayhamn’s hot new mixtape release party.” The Xlusive rental started at 10 p.m., according to an online advertisement. From 6 to 8 p.m. on December 30, almost 100 children and parents had used the lanes without incident for a Montauk Youth family bowling night, and separate New Year’s Eve parties for families and for adults were planned for the next day at the bowling alley.

I did not mention race, all I said was folks from away, a common term among local folks to describe those from out of thier town. Seems like the pot is calling the kettle black.

Its true tmarie, the term is used for people who do not live here, originally used to describe the city folks back in the day. Sorry you can't pull the race card on this one!

Yes she can. She, and the rest of self appointed adjudocators of Racism® only have one card to play. What do you expect? A logical, intellectually honest debate?

Perhaps the use of the interjection "de Jesus" WAS innocent. Pronouncing it in the most used local language in which it is grammatically correct yields "de hey-Soos" which is certainly suggestive. But it seems to me that the Press used typical media "tact" by scrubbing the article of any indication that the participants were any more than human beings. Anglo, Hispanic, here, away, who knows?

It is singularly uninformative about the specifics of the incident as well. A large fight erupts ...more

BY DE JEEEZUS , phonetically spelled for those of you from away that have never heard the expression used before. Carry on.

to razza5351:

"I" am interested in their race, their age, their school affiliation, their residency, the reason for the party, their employment, their social set, their weltanschauung and anything else that informs one about the cause of the party and the cause of the brawl. This article has been sanitized so thoroughly that any text after the caption is superfluous.

Were they skinheads? Were they Mormons? Tell us SOMETHING.

I can't access the full article. Does the update address the question of whether or not the Russells are Mormons? Was the brawl triggered by some doctrinal dispute?
By highhatsize (4217), East Quogue on Jan 10, 12 4:39 PM
IDK. I Googled it and found an article on Dan's Papers' website, but no word on who was who, just a lot of snarkiness.

Oh Holy smoke!!!! I have never seen so many hill billys that have no lives. Are you all over 80 yrs ?? Are you so bored ?? I think it was all those Illegal leave rakers, who with their 90 million kids gagging the local schools at your expense did it.
Make sure you jump on my spelling and grammer to cloud the issue, and then lets see if it was clamdiggers fighting about the length of the teeth on the rake, or where the cross bar should be located....
No wonder Oflop gets re-elected....

So now you want to try to play off your ignorance as a joke? Pathetic. Fcmcmann is right and your comeback was even more childish than your original post.
